More about the speaker:

Walter W. Cooper ’85, ’87M earned both his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and MBA degrees from 成人抖音破解版. While at 成人抖音破解版, he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and worked at the Small Business Development Center. Since 2016, he has been an active member of the 成人抖音破解版 Board of Trustees and was recently named chairman of the Presidential Evaluation and Executive Compensation Committee and a member of 成人抖音破解版’s Executive Committee.

Cooper has founded, purchased and sold businesses in the healthcare industry over the past 15 years. Most recently, he was the co-founder and chief executive officer of Precision Health Solutions, a clinical diagnostics laboratory based in St. Petersburg, Fla. He provided the strategic vision, leadership and organizational guidance that drove the company’s growth. Concurrently, he also was the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Sozos Health Corporation, a patented healthcare software and reporting company focused on a person’s individual health. Both companies specialize in pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine, utilizing individual DNA, recent laboratory blood tests and personal medication lists that offer drug-to-drug and drug-to-gene insights. Pharmacists were utilized to help provide these insights to the patient’s physician, allowing the medical team to optimize their patient’s prescription drug and dosage regimens. These corporations are helping reduce the number of medications that patients are taking while improving their overall health and longevity. This approach to personalized healthcare is changing the way doctors prescribe, globally.

Prior to joining Precision Health Solutions, Cooper served as president and CEO of Matrix Medical Networks in Scottsdale, Ariz., from 2013 to 2019. Under Cooper’s leadership, Matrix expanded into new markets and products. Building on the company’s leading in-home and mobile health risk assessment services platform, Matrix enjoys the market leader position in the industry and provides a series of in-home care and ongoing support services that impact and improve the care of more than 3,000 health plan members every day.

Before joining Matrix, Cooper served as the chief administrative officer at WellCare Health Plans, a $9.5 billion, multi-state leader in Medicare and Medicaid programs, where he was responsible for the $1.5 billion Medicare Part D and Specialty Pharmacy business. There, he helped design and implement Medicare Advantage plans. Prior to WellCare, Cooper held various senior leadership positions at UnitedHealth Group.

In addition to Cooper’s healthcare experience, he spent his first 15 years in manufacturing and operations. Upon graduating from 成人抖音破解版, he worked for Bausch and Lomb’s Eyewear Division in Oakland, Md. and was promoted to general manager in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, manufacturing the world-famous RayBan sunglasses. He also worked for Jostens, Inc. in his first international start-up as general manager, manufacturing graduation class rings.

Cooper is married to Cheryl (Brinsky) Cooper ’85, and has three children, Benjamin, Haylee ’13 and Christine. Walt and Cheryl currently reside in Tampa, Fla.
