Students from 成人抖音破解版’s social work program participated in a nonpartisan election peacemaking training sponsored by the Benedictines for Peace, the Sisters of Mercy and Sisters of St. Joseph on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
The students had the opportunity to attend thanks to the coordination of Sara Lichtenwalter, Ph.D., associate professor of social work.
The training focused on active bystander intervention and de-escalation techniques in election scenarios to defuse potential verbal and physical violence. “I appreciated the training and learned that everyone can help keep peace in many different, often small ways,” said Alyssa Tulli, a sophomore social work student who participated in the two-hour session.
