The College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences at 成人抖音破解版 hosted the NWPA Humanities and Social Sciences Conference on Friday, March 28 in the university’s I-HACK building.

The conference aligned with the theme of the college’s yearlong speaker series, The Decades Tour, which reflects on everyone’s rich histories and anticipates exciting opportunities in the future. The conference’s keynote speaker was J. Camille Dempsey, D.Ed., director of the PennWest Center for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology. Dempsey presented on the topic “The Cave, the Cloud, and the Code: Leading with AI and Emerging Technologies in the Humanities and Social Sciences.” Her research focuses on the ways society is connecting, exploring and communicating through contemporary technologies, as well as how these technologies restructure human consciousness and mediate presence and connection.

The conference was originally developed as a chance for students to present their research and has since grown to include multiple presenters across disciplines and has evolved to include faculty, practitioners and community members. It is now a respected regional peer-reviewed opportunity for students and faculty to share and develop their scholarship and attract professionals from other universities.

“This conference promotes reflection and collaboration across 成人抖音破解版 and other regional institutions,” said Lori Lindley, Ph.D., dean of 成人抖音破解版’s College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. “This year was a great success. We are honored to provide the opportunity for our students and guests to share exciting projects and research in their fields.”

In conjunction with the conference, the university’s Office of Career Exploration and Development hosted a humanities and social sciences career fair in I-HACK. The fair featured a diverse range of employers from various industries, including education, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, media and business sectors.

Both the conference and career fair presented valuable opportunities for students and faculty to grow in their knowledge and professional development.
